This route for cyclists goes through the municipalities of Arzúa, Touro, Boqueixón and Santiago de Compostela.
The route begins in the municipality of Arzúa, specifically at the turn-off on the N-547 road towards Touro, 2 km from the official itinerary of the Way of St. James. During 25 km, the route follows the local AC-240 road, which links Burres and Ponte Ulla.
At km 3 the route leaves the municipality of Arzúa and enters that of Touro, in the parish of Beseño.
At approximately km 12 the route enters the municipality of Touro’s capital, Fonte Díaz, where pilgrims can have their Compostela certificate stamped in the Tourist Information Point located in the Casa del Concello building.
This option is chosen by many touring cyclists from Holland (which is why it is called the “Dutch Route”), Germany, Austria and the Nordic countries in general, being mentioned in these countries’ guides.
This itinerary features good examples of inland Galicia’s traditional architecture, as well as numerous spots of natural, botanical and scenic beauty.
