The sound artist and composer, Xoán-Xil López, presents a work inspired by the text of the same title, included in the book of poems El Poeta Asesinado, by the French writer Guillaume Apollinaire. The cycle delves into the idea of the representation of our audible environment through a series of pieces written for the organ and a sound installation created for the occasion. The noises of the street, trams, factories, bells, round drums, the song of the rooster that announces the dawn... Starting from a series of field recordings, their own and those of others, made in different geographical locations, a cycle of short works is composed through processes of analysis and resynthesis that adapt reality and its soundscapes to the peculiarities of the organ repertoire. The compositions are complemented by an installation entitled Organism I, a kind of automaton that tries to emulate certain natural sounds by using acoustic elements triggered by the air of a bellows. That is why, before the concert, we will have the opportunity to learn the keys that will help us to guide the listening of this contemporary piece.
We will talk with the creator and the performer, organist Andrés Cea, in order to get closer to the compositional process and to contemplate, up close, the sound installation created for the occasion. The creative talent of Xoán-Xil López joins the artistic and interpretative genius of the musician and researcher Andrés Cea, in a unique creation that we will have the privilege of witnessing.
