Shock 2. La tormenta y la guerra

Shock 2 begins where Shock 1 ended, which began with the rise of the monetarist doctrine of Milton Friedman and his Chicago Boys, and continues to advance through the second half of the 20th century. Shock 2 begins in the 1980s, with the conservative revolution led in Europe by Margaret Thatcher and in the US by Ronald Reagan, and culminates in the first great shock of the 21st century: the war in Iraq, a war in which we took part. Because that is what Shock is about, reflecting on the extent to which we are participants in our history, in our shocks, in our blows, in our violence.

Wojtila, Yeltsin, Deng Xiaoping, Mandela, the Bush family, the Aznar family, Rumsfeld, Cheney or Saddam, as well as Margaret or Ronnie are some of the characters in our work. Also the thousands of anonymous people, the real protagonists of Shock, the people. The Iraqi people, the Syrian people, the American people, the Spanish people, the Kurdish people, Moscow, Washington, Johannesburg, Poland, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Sabra and Chatila camps in Lebanon, the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad or Tiananmen Square in Beijing will be our settings.
