The Museo do Pobo Galego Library has an interesting and multidisciplinary bibliographic and documentary collection, mostly coming from both private and institutional contributions. On this occasion, we are going to get to know Galicia through a careful anthology of tourist guides (books, brochures, promotional posters).
Starting from the Guía de Galicia from 1883, we will reach the first decade of the 21st century. From the hand of Otero Pedrayo, Filgueira Valverde, Cunqueiro, Begoña Medina, Laredo Verdejo, Vítor Vaquero, Rosa Casado Nieto, and Federico Cocho among many others, we make a journey through villages and places of Galicia, approaching us from Ribadeo to Tui, passing through Chantada, Ribadavia or Arzúa. Guides, some exhaustive in the informative data, others of careful design with the participation of artists like C. Portela, C. Sobrino, Llorens or of photographers like R. Caamaño give fulfilled vision of the tourism in Galicia throughout the last century.
