This January the best cinema for children returns to the Cidade da Cultura. The Pequefilmes children's short film festival is here, with a selection of more than 50 films to enjoy from 0 to 99 years of age! This year the festival will be held on 26, 27 and 28 January in the CINC Building and there will be three different venues - Vagalumes, Miñocas and Fanecas - and workshops for the little ones to learn how to make films with shadows.
Tickets for the screenings and workshops can be purchased in advance at the ticket office of the Centro Gaiás Museum and at Ataquilla.com. They can also be purchased the same day before each session at the CINC Building, at a price of 3 euros plus administration fees. Below you have a direct link to the programme and timetables of each venue. A variety of styles, genres and themes characterise the Pequefilmes programme.
And although animation continues to be the main protagonist, this year we will also be able to see short fiction films starring real actors and actresses. Also noteworthy is the participation of two short films produced in Galicia and in Galician, which will compete in the competition sections of the festival along with films from France, Germany, the United States, Portugal and so on up to 16 countries participating in this eighth edition of the festival.
As in other editions, the children spectators of Pequefilmes are also the jury of the festival. The two prizes awarded to the best short films in the Miñocas and Fanecas sections depend on their votes. Outside the competition, an anthology of films screened at the latest editions of two of the most important short film and children's film festivals in Europe: the Clermont-Ferrand Festival and the IndieJúnior in Oporto, will be shown free of charge after collecting the invitation.3 sections:
