The film Os millos ausentes is the result of scientific research by the (ethno)archaeobotanist: ‘Old crops for new insights: agricultural systems of broomcorn and foxtail millet cultivation in Iberia’, which urges the film crew to embark on a journey through Asturias, Galicia and northern Portugal.

This documentary is the sum of science and audiovisuals. It takes the research outside the academic institution, making it accessible to all audiences. For the filmmakers and the researcher, ‘the audiovisual is a good tool for dissemination, which goes beyond the written word and helps to recover memory, customs and ethnography, turning the piece itself into a study archive’.
