Galicia, de Nós a nós will be the most ambitious exhibition to date on the Nós Generation. It aims to show society the significance of what, together with the Rexurdimento, is probably the most relevant historical moment in the shaping of Galician culture and identity.
It will be the second of the three great exhibitions programmed by the Xunta de Galicia on the occasion of Xacobeo 2021, after Galicia, un relato no mundo, in which the great milestones in the history of Galicia were dealt with. This new exhibition focuses on the Nós Generation to continue that journey, taking us from the time of the so-called fathers of contemporary Galicianism to the present day. The project will vindicate the validity of principles defended by the Nós Generation, such as the universal dimension of Galician culture, the need to have a voice of one's own in the world and the open and integrating character of Galicia.
Curated by Afonso Vázquez-Monxardín Fernández and Ana Acuña Trabazo, it also represents the central project of the Galician Government in the 'Ano Nós' programme, which commemorates the hundredth anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the magazine Nós, which was published on 30 October 1920. The commemoration of its centenary offers a key opportunity to serve as an element that brings together and reinforces a Galician personality of today that is itself enlightened, universalist and open to world trends of thought, as was the case with that publishing initiative in the 1920s and 1930s. This is the spirit in which this exhibition project was born, which also aims to publicise in detail a magazine that is one of the essential references to Galician culture in the 20th century.
