‘FolkXove’ is an initiative born from the Participative Budgets of the Youth area and aims to connect the youngest audience with the Galician musical tradition. This will be done through different workshops and concerts.
The ‘FolkXove’ day will begin with two workshops to be held at the Centro Xove da Almáciga on Saturday morning. The first will be an introductory tambourine workshop given by Antón, starting at 11.00. From 12.30, it will be the turn of Carme Iglesias, in charge of the traditional dance workshop. To take part, you must register by emailing info@centroxove.com.
In the afternoon, the ‘FolkXove’ concerts will take place, starting at 19:45. Three groups will perform on the stage of the Xove Centre: Treba, a folk music duo with guitar and tambourine; Abril, made up of Claudia Abril and Marina Carpente; and Irmaus da Raia Seca, a quartet formed by the Pascual brothers and the Álvarez brothers.
The concerts are free and open access until full capacity is reached.
