Curated by Carlos L. Bernárdez, historian and art critic, Fue un hombre. Laxeiro in America (Buenos Aires, 1950-1970) brings together forty pieces from various institutions such as the Ramón María Aller Municipal Museum of Lalín, the Museum of Pontevedra and Afundación, focusing on the period of maturity of this international artist from Lalín who settled in Argentina for twenty years, immersing himself in the intellectual environment of the capital of Buenos Aires, the focus of emigration and Galician exile.
The exhibition thus aims to take a new look at Laxeiro's work. During this period, the painter remained extremely faithful to the Galician themes of his training, but underwent an intense formal evolution.
