The banquet that brought together university students, workers and craftsmen around the same table on 2 March 1856 to demand equality and freedom, remains in the collective memory as one of the foundational events of the galeguismo.

The IV Festa do Banquete (Banquet Party) is o 12,13 and 14 May. Among the activities to be visited is the Craft Market which will host exhibitors from the book and craft sectors in the Aurelio Aguirre square.

Among the most outstanding activities is the Andaina Muscial organised by the Escola Municipal de Música on Saturday. The walk will start at 10 am at the Multiusos Fontes do Sar. More info here.

In addition, there will be a BOOK MARKET AND TRADITIONAL CRAFTS EXHIBITION.

On Sunday  there will be a Serán da Fraternidade open to traditional music and dance, where you can come with your music or dance group. You can also come dressed in period costume to the Banquet Party.

The Little Banquet. Theatrical performance by Os Quinquilláns with the students of the Santiago de Compostela school CEP Quiroga Palacios.
 
11:45 h-Carballeira de Conxo.
Fillas de Cassandra present songs from their work Acrópolis.
MariaSOA (vocals, percussion and piano) and Sara Faro (vocals and percussion) will participate in the recording of a video clip with the girls and boys performing together the song LISISTRATA.
 
18:30h-Praza de Conxo
Traditional dance workshop. Given by the traditional dance group of the Agrupación Folclórica Colegiata de Sar. Activity open to the general public without prior registration.

Obradoiro de Cantos de Taberna by Muiñeiros do Sarela.
 
21:00 h Cantos de Taberna in the bars of the neighbourhood.
With the participation of the groups of Santiago Can de Ghaitero, Cantamadeira, Cantarea 21, Grupo Colegiata de Sar, Muiñeiros do Sarela and Son de Galicia e Silva Verde del Castineiriño; the group Repenicos de Touro and Vento Mareiro de Moaña. The songs will take place in the bars A Chara, Barrigola, Caiman, Cantina San Serapio, Casa Pajueleira, Marlo, News and Los Mallos. Activity coordinated by Muiñeiros do Sarela.
 
SATURDAY 13 MAY

2nd EMM Musical Walk.
Activity that combines music, contact with the environment and our natural heritage. There will be a route along the Brañas de Sar, Colegiata de Sar, Pontepedriña and Conxo. During the route there will be different musical performances in different places along the way.
 
10:00h-Carballo del Banquete de Conxo.
Forest Baths
Immersive activity in the Forest of the Banquet of Conxo. There will be 12 places per shift. Registration by order of application via email bosque@santiagodecompostela.gal
 
12:00h-Plaza Aurelio Aguirre.
The Voices of the Forest.
A literary tour through the historic Conxo woodland guided by the editor and writer Henrique Alvarellos, to remember the authors who wrote about the forest or in the forest, from the 12th to the 20th century. Adapted to all audiences. Language: Galician. Duration: 80 min. approx.

11:00h There go the students and craftsmen. Theatrical parade from Plaza del Toural to Conxo. Directed by: Los Quinquilláns. Participants: Los Quinquilláns, Teatro Medioguevo, Grupo de Teatro da Rocha, Coral A Oliveira de Monte Branco, Grupo de Gaitas Inllar, theatre group of the Fundación Pondal de Ponteceso, Clube Mozo and active neighbourhood of the CSC Aurelio Aguirre de Conxo, Brigadas Teatrais de Catoira, Teatro do Muiño (Laraño) and Teatro do Solpor (Vite). Musical accompaniment by Muñieiros do Sarela. 

12:45h - Conxo Square Proclamation of the Feast of the Banquet by Xosé Lois Mouriño Couto de Sar and Lucia Pérez Lemos de Villestro. 

13:00h We go down to the Banquet Forest. Continuation of the theatrical parade to the Carballeira de Conxo. The Quinquilláns accompanied by the group os Fondaos do Pífaro, Os Gaiteros de Conxo and various groups. 

14:15 h-Carballeira de Conxo Welcome and theatrical recreation of the Conxo Banquet. The Quinquilláns. 

15:00 h-Carballeira de Conxo. Lunch and popular pilgrimage, with toast of neighbours. 

16:30-19:00h-Carballeira de Conxo. A Eira do Paporrubio.O pasarrúas dos xigantes. Family audience. Tour through the forest of the Banquet of giant characters that will encourage to participate in the games installed in the Carballeira. Xogos Paporrubio: Traditional games station.Varietês del animalario: Puppet show with live music.Photocol. 

17:00 h-Carballeira of Conxo The evening of the Fraternity. Traditional music party with Os Fondaos do Pífaro. Devagarinho, Grupo de Cantos de Taberna de la Asociación de Mujeres Recandea and Muiñeiros do Sarela. 

19.30h-Carballeira de Conxo Farewell of the Banquet Party 2023 and invitation to the next edition. Speeches by Los Quinquilláns and closing speech.
