Jesús Otero-Yglesias (Lugo, 1963) trained in the workshops of Jannis Kounellis, Gabriel Orozco and Joan Fontcuberta, and began his career in the eighties, standing out for his interdisciplinary language that encompasses media such as painting, sculpture, performance and poetry. He received important grants and awards, such as the Unión Fenosa prize for artistic creation, which allowed him to live in Belgium and develop his ‘Flanders’ series. Influenced by surrealism, the Renaissance and neoplasticist geometry, his work explores duality and nature. He is considered one of the most relevant conceptual artists on the Galician scene in the nineties.
