Esquecidas includes the works of 12 women artists, to a certain extent far removed from the commercial and official circuit, but of great importance in the historical artistic context of the last century.
The exhibition brings together and highlights a collection of 20 works by great women painters that history left stored on a forgotten shelf.
The exhibition route establishes an approach to different aesthetic aspects approached by different women creators. In the space, all the works dialogue around the creative fact, either faced in a more academic or costumbrist way, or with a more contemporary treatment; artists of the stature of Oria García Ramirez, Pura Anido or Carmen Rodríguez de Legísima oppose each other and widen the spectrum together with Olga Sacharoff, Victoria Durán, Ana Legido, Maruja Mallo, Rosalía Dans, or María del Carmen Corredoira, among others.
Discourses that, in their antagonism, complement and strengthen each other, offering rereadings of a broad spectrum that spans from the mid-19th century to the end of the 20th.
