I paint ladies strolling, disgruntled lovers and wandering birds. Cliffs and a sea of lead. I paint gentlemen running and now also a man who is two. Who is two. It's me and another me. What a mess. I paint what comes out. The art is in letting it come out.
I paint like someone who walks. You don't think that first you put one leg forward and then the other and so on. Well, painting is the same. To be a painter is to close your eyes and see what you can't see.
There are things that emit light: a lady, a child, a bird, a tree. There is sky and there is earth. Always like that. There is blue and there is yellow. There is all-enveloping light. And distance. There is also love: a lady, a child, a bird, a tree.
And so on.
