Between 1 and 6 October 2024, the citizens of Compostela and film lovers will be able to enjoy a wide selection of 41 small-format films from 18 countries, distributed in three sections: Cosmos, Planet GZ, Supernova.
Of these 41 titles, 27 are directed by women, 65.8% of the total - 15 out of 25 in Cosmos, 6 out of 9 in Planeta GZ, 6 out of 7 in Supernova - a fact that highlights Cortocircuito's commitment to the female gaze in its programme. Filmmakers such as Elena López Riera, Marina Lameiro, Gala Hernández, Sandra Schäfer and Rainer Kohlberger will present their new works.
Organised by the City Council of Santiago de Compostela (Compostela Cultura), this festival with a permeable programme that overflows the cinema with AV/AV, conferences, performances or round tables, dedicates the image of its next edition to the ‘oceanic depths’.
The poster for Cortocircuito 2024, the work of Iñaki López, is made up of four images of marine abysses that reflect the restless and immersive spirit of an event that is always attentive to discovering and showcasing emerging talent and new audiovisual languages.
In this new edition, most of the activities of Cortocircuito will take place in two venues in the Galician capital - the Teatro Principal and the Sala Capitol - to which the Abanca Auditorium and the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela will be added.
In addition, there will be a parallel programme with Audiovisual shows. 33EMYBW (Shanghai), Joey Holder (United Kingdom), Ricardo Giovinetto, (Italy), Alessandra Leone (Italy), Zoë Mc Pherson (France, Ireland) or Yousuke Yukimatsu (Japan) will visit Compostela between Thursday 3 and Sunday 6 at the Teatro Principal and Sala Capitol.
