From 28 April to 24 May, the series Os sons da pedra. O ronsel do Mestre Mateo offers 5 concerts whose common thread is the reconstruction of the instruments that Master Mateo sculpted in the Portico de la Gloria and the derivations of genres and geographies left in his wake.

This series of concerts goes hand in hand with a symposium of the same name which will bring together in Compostela numerous craftsmen and luthiers who took part in the project to reconstruct the instruments of the Portico, which began in 1989 under the direction of José López Calo and Carlos Villanueva. With the patronage of the Barrié Foundation, this initiative for the recovery of cultural heritage led to the construction of 19 instrumental replicas that could be heard in the Pórtico de la Gloria. Subsequently, the initiative was extended to the reproduction of instruments from the Pazo de Xelmírez in Lugo and the cathedral of Ourense.

The symposium and the series of concerts are complemented by an exhibition under the same title, Os sons da pedra, which can be visited from 29 April to 28 May in the Hall of the Coffered Ceiling of the Pazo de Fonseca.
