One of the first great works by the brilliant Galician master is once again on display in the city that witnessed his growth as an artist and his transcendental personality.

The Procession of Santiago, also known as the Procession of the Patronage, was executed in 1908. It is a monumental work, depicting a religious procession through the streets of Compostela that departed on the afternoon of 27 July. This theme allowed the artist the possibility of caricaturing all the figures of the city, from the civil authorities to the religious hierarchies, not forgetting his own figure in the middle of the procession carrying the banner, standing out from the rest with his exaggerated, ungainly silhouette, using the model also used in the Album of Self-Caricatures.
