On Monday, December 13th, at 7.30 p.m., the Ateneo de Santiago has scheduled a conference, organised by the Information Society Section, entitled "Carlos Velo no documental do século XX", which will be given by Fernando Redondo, Professor of Audiovisual Communication at the USC, at Rúa do Vilar, 19, in Santiago de Compostela.
Fernando Redondo Neira holds a degree in Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country (UPV) and a PhD from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). He is currently Professor of Audiovisual Communication at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the USC. He is the author of the books Carlos Velo. Itinerarios del documental en los años treinta and Las fresas de Bergman (Ramón Piñeiro Essay Prize 2018), as well as co-author of Galicia en EN El-DEL: Comunicación, cultura y sociedad and coordinator-editor of the volume Ciudadanía y documental. He was awarded the María Luz Morales Prize for Film Essays and the Manuel Reimóndez Portela Prize for Journalism. He is a member of the Spanish Association of Film Historians (AEHC), the USC Centre for Film Studies and the Galician Association of Communication Researchers.
