“Archicofradía Universal del Apóstol Santiago” is a secular Catholic association based in the Cathedral. Its main objectives are: promoting worship of the Apostle James and the Christian pilgrimage to his tomb; welcoming pilgrims and taking care of them during the pilgrimage along all roads leading to Santiago; providing aid to make the pilgrimage a time of encounter and personal commitment, collaborating with Santiago Cathedral in order to look after pilgrims properly; collaborating in preserving cultural-religious heritage linked to Santiago and “its roads.”
