 Compostela, meeting point
Santiago de Compostela is undoubtedly of tourist interest, as well as being Galicia’s main attraction. The image of Santiago is now being used promotionally by Galicia’s and Spain’s tourism organisms and institutions, which have made Compostela a first-rate destination, as shown by the millions of visitors who come each year and the degree of satisfaction that they take home with them.
Santiago is a city that has been receiving travellers and pilgrims since it arose in the Middle Ages, a destination that has been shaped through the centuries, thereby keeping its cultural legacy and heritage alive.
