Highlighting the effects of global warming at the Poles, their immense beauty, the fauna inhabiting them and their important role in the earth’s balance. These are the objectives behind the project called THE POLAR TRIP, whose presentation in Santiago de Compostela will begin a series that will take it to different Spanish cities during 2010 and 2011. Led by the Ferrol photographer Carlos Caraglia, THE POLAR TRIP is an ambitious education project that is being presented in Compostela as part of the Xacobeo 2010 celebrations, offering visitors a chance to enjoy hitherto unseen images of life at the Pole. The exhibition, which will be on display in Compostela’s Alameda Park from July 3 to 11, was made possible thanks to the contribution of Santiago Tourism and Santiago City Council , as well as other sponsors and collaborators. It will occupy an area of 100 m2 and feature a carefully designed programme of educational activities.
PRESENTATION IN PRAZA DA QUINTANA As part of the World Environment Day celebrations (June 5), on Friday the Praza da Quintana will host a night screening of THE POLAR TRIP. It will be a unique event, due to the previously unseen images and the setting of the screening, which will take place at midnight. Spectators will enjoy stunning high-definition images on a large screen during 30 minutes. CONTINUATION After visiting Santiago, the exhibition will be in Ferrol during November, before beginning a tour of the rest of Spain in 2010, visiting cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao and Zaragoza, among other venues.
