Call for entries now open for Curtocircuito 2011
The call for entries is now open for submitting the films to the VIII Curtocircuito, International Short Film Festival of Santiago de Compostela, an initiative of the Culture and Community Centers Council, led by the nationalist Socorro García Conde which will take place from May 6 until May 15, 2011. The competitions are open to short filmmakers from around the world who wish to send their works before February the 20th 2011. They will have to register online via the submission platform Short Film Depot www.shortflimdepot.com. The shorts, which can be sent by mail or uploaded online, cannot exceed 30 minutes of duration can be shot in any format. The awards are maintained from the past edition, but the sections change a little. The International competition (divided into Fiction, Animation and Documentary) and the Explora (experimental) competition are maintained as well as their respective awards. The Compostelae competition is new, also divided into Fiction, Animation and Documentary, in which will compete short films from Spain including, of course, the Galician productions - which will also be awarded a special award for the best Galician short. All the shorts submitted will automatically take part in the International Market of Shorts, which its sixth edition will will take place during the same dates. This activity has for aim of being a meeting point for professionals of the audio-visual world, who will be able to discuss, present their works, watch and sell their productions.
