Porta dos Leóns (Lions door)

It is a structure composed by two parts, both of them opened, finished by a lying down-lion. The project is by the local architect Julián Pastor (1835), and it was implemented by the master quarries J. Portela and José Benito Marrazo. Originally, it was part of the ornamental closure which defined the limits of the Alameda, in front of 'Porta Faxeira'. In 1885, the shrines were moved to their current location, at the beginning of the 'Ferradura' walk.
