The hidden seas

Ribeira Sacra and Sil Canyons

During its final kilometres before flowing into the Miño, the River Sil flows through a wide and deep canyon, surrounded by striking natural scenery that is quite extraordinary, with leafy oak groves and chestnut trees hiding small monasteries andchurches (which is why the region is called “Sacra”)… It looks like the setting of a fairytale, far from civilisation, where all that you can hear is the sound of nature and the air is pure… Wonderful surroundings for walking and enjoying yourself.

You can cruise down the river in a catamaran, which enables you to see otherwise inaccessible places, as well as the terraces where Galicia’s famous Ribeira Sacra wine is cultivated
