This building is located in Compostela's most emblematic square, Plaza del Obradoiro, bordered by Santiago Cathedral, the University and Pazo de Raxoi. Considered one of the 'Paradores' network's most outstanding jewels and thought to be the oldest hotel in the world, it was built by the Catholic Monarchs as a pilgrim hospital in 1499. Its Gothic, Renaissance and baroque design make it a very interesting monument, along with its 4 cloisters. The Parador features elegant lounges, spectacular rooms and a dining hall that offers the typical fish, seafood and meat dishes and desserts of Galicia's gastronomy. There is also a restaurant-inn in the basement.
