  Tourism Quality Plan
Compromiso de Calidad TurísticaIn recent years, the tourist has become a mature and demanding client who is interested, not only in a good price but also in an appropriate relationship between price and service. This, along with the need for keeping abreast of the changes taking place in the tourist sector and the search for excellence in the destination, led to Santiago de Compostela requesting, in 2001, to be a Pilot Destination in the Comprehensive System of Spanish Tourist Destination Quality. This is a project promoted by the Secretariat General for Tourism and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, in which more than 100 destinations throughout Spain are currently participating.

SICTED involves the introduction of a quality in most sub-sectors and sectors related to tourism. Good Practices Manuals for Tourism Quality have therefore been prepared for 27 kinds of companies and services:
Active Leisure Information Offices
Bars and Cafeterias Natural Reserves
