On Saturday 22nd evening, we will have the arrival of the ‘Sacred Fire’ from the Pico Sacro (Sacred Peak), escorted by the Celtic queen Alda and her procession. This symbolic act recovers the pagan celebration of the solstice with the achievement of fire by natural means. The torch will remain in Mazarelos at the disposal of those who wish to light their bonfires with it.
The procession will leave Carballeira de Santa Susana, in the Alameda Park at 10.00 pm, and will walk along Porta Faxeira, Rúa do Vilar, Rúa de Xelmírez, Rúa da Conga, Praza de Feixóo, Rúa do Preguntoiro, Cinco Rúas, Rúa do Castro, Praza da Universidade streets.
Arrival at Praza de Mazarelos, where is the San Xoán Festival, is scheduled for approximately 10.30 pm.
