The Brión Horse Fair is a horse-riding event that is held in September in the hills of Rañalonga, normally the weekend before the “Romería de Santa Minia.”
In an area prepared for the occasion, during two days the festival attracts numerous horse lovers who attend a horse route and several horse-riding competitions: horse races, donkey races, enclosing steers, gymkhana, pulling and breaking-in. In recent years, a releasing of heifers has also been introduced. In relation to food, visitors have the opportunity of tasting Galician-style octopus.
The event is organised by the Brión Horse Fair Association, with the collaboration of Brión Town Council and the Provincial Council of A Coruña.
