The festival features a competition of cyprinids, the family to which the chub belongs. Competitors are divided into different categories: children, youth, women, senior citizens or teams. Anglers gather at 8 am in Bar Nieto to start finishing at 9 am until 1.30 pm. After the catches are weighed, the awards ceremony is held around 2.45 pm.
The competition is followed by the traditional festival, accompanied by the music of Trazo’s Os Xeitosos bagpipe group followed by an orchestra. After lunch, the open-air dance continues from 6 to 10 pm, once again with an orchestra. There is also octopus on offer and inflatables for children.
