Cabrita. Work (always) in progress
The meaning of the work of Cabrita Reis, implicit in the title of the exhibition, is the result of her particular look, in a permanent plastic and philosophical reflection. Cabrita practices a way of thinking that lies between the ontological premises and the empirical formulations, related to that which is not so obvious and that alludes to existence, to the substance of the nature of being.
The basis of his work lies in the anthropological reflection on social behavior through space and time. But, far from the scientific perspective of sociological analysis, Cabrita's method is based on the ability to conceive the world in a symbolic way. For that, it uses a conceptual gear linked to the philosophical ideas of transience, existence and memory, reflecting on the essentials from the evidence and the finitude of life.
