The Ascension Festival is, along with the 'Apóstol' one, the most popular with Compostela's residents. The city is full of recreational and cultural activities, macro-concerts, street entertainment, 'cabezudos' (big heads), theatre, fair in Alameda Park, big wheel, octopus in the Santa Susana 'Carballeira' (oak grove), during a celebration that livens up the city, especially due to the participation of thousands of students before their final exams.
The Ascension Festival also features a traditional horse show with equestrian exhibitions in the Amio showground.
