El director Victor Salva, que tiene en su haber películas como “Powder”, “Nature of the Beast” and “Rites of passage”, compone en esta ocasión un film que bebe directamente de las fuentes de películas como “La noche de los muertos vivientes”, “Pesadilla en Elm Street” e incluso “El silencio de los corderos”.
Este film de bajo presupuesto (apenas 10 millones de dólares) fue producido por American Zoetrope, perteneciente al famoso director Francis Ford Coppola, quien funge de productor ejecutivo. El rodaje estuvo precedido por el eco de los antecedentes penales del director Salva, quien a principios de los 90 cumplió una pena de 15 meses por molestar sexualmente a un menor.
An event declared a Festival of Galician Tourist Interest that receives an important number of visitors from all over Galicia every year. This festival was one of the first “filloa” (crepe) festivals held in Galicia, being centred on an exclusively Galician product, just like other traditional products accompanying it (honey, chorizo…), although there are similar desserts in other regions and countries. In view of its age, we can determine that it originated as a genuine promotion of this characteristic Entroido (Galician Carnival) product.

The festival was held for the first time in 2012 with the aim of bringing together all of Galicia’s producers; cider makers from the entire Cantabrian coast were also present: Asturias, Zamora, Cantabria and the Basque Country.
The Municipality of A Estrada’s local holiday, devoted to its patron saint, “San Paio,” is held from June 26 to 29. During these four days, an extensive programme of recreational, sports, cultural and religious activities is carried out.

Festival featuring the promotion and tasting of ham, which is held on August 14 in the parish of Bermés (Lalín) and will reach its 16th year in 2014. Cured and roast ham is served, along with bread and wine.
Religious pilgrimage. It is held at the end of August near the village of Beca, in the parish of Bastavales. The pilgrims go to a forest where the stone figure of St. André, possibly from Castro Lupario, is venerated. During this popular pilgrimage, sardines, cornbread, boiled potatoes and wine are served.
