Since 1999, the Gastronomy Forum has been a groundbreaking cuisine congress in Europe. After five biennial events in Catalonia, in 2008 it started alternating between Girona (odd years) and Santiago de Compostela (even years), offering its original combination of events open to the public throughout the city, a professional congress and trade fair.
The latest Fórum Gastronómico de Santiago was held in February 2012.
