The Film

It is the first stop-motion, stereoscope animated feature made in Europe.
12.4.2010

The councillor for Economic Promotion and Tourism, Xosé Manuel Iglesias, and the executive producer of ’O Apóstolo’, Isabel Rey, presented Santiago Tourism’s collaboration with the Compostela company Artefacto Producciones in promoting the film, which is the first one made in Europe using the stop-motion animation technique. They were accompanied by the president of the Valencia Association of Friends of the Way of St. James, Mª Ángeles Fernández, who helped to make the interactive game based on the film.
’O Apóstolo’ is directed by Fernando Cortizo. It is a movie featuring terror, humour and fantasy set along the Way of St. James and in the Galician capital.
The film will premiere on July 17 in the Auditorio de Galicia. It will be distributed internationally by Tricoast Worldwide. Santiago Tourism believes that the film has great promotion as a promoter of Compostela in view of its theme centred on the  Way of St. James and the city itself, its innovative nature and its cast of actors: Carlos Blanco, José Manuel Olveira ’Pico’, Celso Bugallo, Luis Tosar, Paul Naschy, Jorge Sanz, Geraldine Chaplin and Manuel Manquiña.

Interactive game
The press conference was also the official presentation of the interactive game based on ’O Apóstolo.’ It is a quiz game in which players have to answer a series of questions about the Way of St. James as they advance along the board. Those completing the game will win an official merchandising product: t-shirts, caps, torches, umbrellas, mugs, notepads, etc. The game was designed in collaboration with the Valencia Association of Friends of the Way of St. James.
