158 Compostela companies and services receive tourism quality certificate
Santiago is the second city in Spain with the most certifications, which reflects the commitment of the city's tourism sector to quality.

The Comprehensive Destination Tourism Quality System (SICTED) awarded Santiago de Compostela more quality certificates than in any other year, according to the Tourism Quality Committee chaired by the councillor for Economic Promotion and Tourism, Xosé Manuel Iglesias.
The list of companies that were awarded certification includes 54 shops, 18 tourist guides, 25 hotels, 22 taxis, 16 restaurants, 7 travel agencies, 4 rural houses, 2 museums, 3 congress organisers, 2 cafés, 1 health complex and the Compostela Monumental association, the Santiago de Compostela Convention Bureau, the Turismo de Santiago office and the Tourist Train. Overall, 14 different sectors are represented, which highlights the commitment to quality on the part of the city’s tourism industry.
The Tourism Quality Committee’s goal of increasing the number of certified companies and services in 2009 has thus been achieved. Any establishments and services interested in obtaining SICTED certiciation can apply from March 15 to May 15.
