Santiago Promoted in USA and Brazil
Santiago Tourism travelled in October to the cities of New York, Boston, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to continue promoting the Galician capital as a tourist destination, with special emphasis on the Way of St. James.

Santiago de Compostela’s municipal tourism company was busy in October promoting the city’s tourist attractions in the American and Brazilian markets. On October 20, Santiago Tourism participated in a promotional trip of the Spanish World Heritage Cities, which presented its tourist products to travel agents and journalists in Boston’s State Room. In a similar workshop also organised by the Spanish Tourism Office in New York, the 13 World Heritage Cities met with tour operators in the Big Apple in the Bowery Hotel, with the attendance of the mayors of Segovia, Ibiza, Tarragona, Avila and Cuenca. Promoting the Way of St. James in Brazil Santiago Tourism attended on October 21-23 the ABAV fair, the largest of its kind in Latin America, where it promoted Santiago as the destination of the Way of St. James Press Trips In relation to promotional trips, Santiago Tourism received from October 18-20 a group of American journalists from Illinois, Texas and Indiana. These guests of Turespaña and Santiago Tourism toured Compostela and Galicia to become acquainted with the Group of World Heritage Cities’ initiative called Contemporary Architecture Itineraries.
