SANTIAGO(e)TAPAS Already Has More Than 300 Admirers on Facebook

The 2nd SANTIAGO(é)TAPAS Competition begins today in Compostela. From June 25 to July 12, participants can explore five routes with 50 bars to sample the competition´s 109 tapas. This event promoting Galician gastronomy in Compostela has its own page on Facebook and numerous admirers.

This summer, the pleasure of enjoying tapas returns to Santiago de Compostela: Santiago Tourism and the Compostela Catering Association present the 2nd SANTIAGO(é)TAPAS competition, during which lovers of small-scale cuisine can visit 50 bars and vote for their favourite tapa.
During this adventure featuring the city´s best 109 tapas, divided into five routes (Plaza del Obradoiro, Plaza de Cervantes, Plaza de Galicia, Plaza Roja and Camino Francés) participants will be accompanied by their faithful Tapasporte, which will be stamped by the participating bars in this culinary `pilgrimage.´ There will be several prizes for the best participants. The Tapasporte is available in the Plaza de Galicia tourist office, Turismo de Santiago office (Rúa do Vilar, 63) and in participating bars.
 From Company Tapasportes to Facebook
This year sees the introduction of new features: company Tapasporte, a prize for the bar with the best customer service, a jury to short-list the tapas and more expensive prizes, which will be awarded during the final gala on July 15. 
The competition also has its own page on Facebook, so that fans of Compostela´s tapas can contact each other and share their experiences. The Facebook launch attracted 300 admirers of SANTIAGO(é)TAPAS in only half a day.
